Isle of Mists is a single-player game demo set on a fog-covered island filled with lost memories, ancient ruins, and quiet, unfolding stories. Developed as a personal project, it explores mood, mystery, and environmental storytelling through interactive design.

Problem

This project was a way to explore how space, light, and narrative fragments can be used to build atmosphere in games. I wanted to experiment with subtle storytelling and the feeling of discovery, without relying on dialogue or cutscenes.

My Contributions

As the solo creator of the project, I handled all aspects of development:

  • Designed the level layout and built the world in game engine

  • Wrote the narrative structure and hidden story elements

  • Created and implemented UI elements to match the tone

  • Scripted basic interactions, events, and puzzle triggers

  • Designed the audio and lighting to support atmosphere

Results

The prototype serves as a working concept for a larger narrative game. Based on players feedback, it successfully delivers an emotional, self-guided experience that encourages exploration and interpretation. The project helped to improve my skills in Unity scripting, environmental storytelling, tone setting, and solo development.
